New wastewater treatment process achieves high removal efficiency for pollutants.
A new wastewater treatment process with five tanks was developed to remove nitrogen and phosphorus effectively. After a year-long pilot experiment in Nanjing, it was found that this process can achieve high removal efficiency for pollutants like COD, BOD5, TP, NH3-N, and TN. The effluent quality met the strict standards for municipal wastewater treatment plants, with over 90% removal of TP and over 70% removal of TN.
