The study looked at how coal in the Gaojiazhuang area of Qinshui Basin can absorb methane gas, which is important for coalbed methane exploration. The results showed that the coal there can hold a lot of methane, especially in certain coal layers. The type of coal and what it's made of affect how much methane it can hold, while moisture and ash in the coal can make it hold less methane.
