Science evaluation and intellectual property protection are closely linked, sharing common goals but also conflicting at times. Problems in intellectual property protection exist at individual, organization, and national levels. The main aim is to align intellectual property protection with science evaluation, create a system that supports both, foster innovation, and generate more intellectual property.
