Eutrophication leads to drastic decline in submerged plants of Gehu Lake.
Submerged plants in Gehu Lake have decreased due to pollution and fish farming. The main species like Ceratophyllum demersum and Potamogeton cripus have declined, leading to less than 1% coverage in 2009. The lake has shifted from clear to murky water as a result. The degradation of these plants is mainly caused by pollution entering the lake and the size of fish farms. The study aims to guide the restoration of submerged plants in Gehu Lake.
