Soil amendment in sandy soil improved soil structure and water content, leading to increased maize yield. The treatment increased soil aggregate content and transformed particle sizes, especially in the top soil layers. Water content in the soil also significantly increased compared to untreated soil. Maize yield was higher in treated soil, showing the positive impact of soil amendment on both soil quality and crop productivity.
