Climate models overestimate winter precipitation in East Asia, impacting regional accuracy.
The study looked at how well 5 computer models can predict the climate in East Asia. The models did a good job at showing the temperature changes throughout the year, but they tended to make things colder than they actually were. They also did well at predicting where and when it would rain, but they often predicted too much rain in the spring and winter. In some parts of China, the models were not as accurate at predicting rainfall. Overall, two of the models did a better job at predicting the climate in East Asia compared to the others.
