The study looked at the water quality in rural areas of Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province to help improve drinking water safety. They tested water from 18 locations during dry and wet seasons in 2010-2011. Results showed that 63.95% of the water met safety standards. Water quality was better when disinfection equipment was used regularly. Microbial indicators were important for water safety in rural areas of Shijiazhuang.
