The researchers developed a new gas drainage technology using double casing pipes to improve gas flow in mining seams. By analyzing existing methods and testing the new technology in a coal mine, they found that the double casing pipes prevented borehole collapse and improved gas sealing. The new method increased gas flow by 80% and maintained a high gas volume fraction in the drainage pipe, resulting in a 45% gas drainage rate in the coal seam.
