Deeper roots, higher yields: New farming technique boosts rapeseed production
The study compared two methods of growing rapeseed plants and found that direct drilling resulted in deeper root distribution compared to transplanting. Roots were fewer in the top soil layer but more abundant in deeper layers under direct drilling. The weight of roots at the flowering stage was crucial for higher yield, with stronger roots leading to better crop production. Transplanting method led to stronger root growth, and higher nitrogen levels benefited root development, ultimately impacting the yield of rapeseed plants.
