Planting density affects the yield of maize. The best density for growing maize is around 88,600 plants per hectare. At this density, the highest yield of 15,333 kg per hectare was achieved. However, as density increased, the weight of 100 grains decreased, and the number of grains per spike also decreased. Additionally, the lodging rate of the maize plants increased with higher planting densities.
