The article introduces a new method called discernibility matrix for reducing attributes in a system based on entropy. The researchers designed a new discernibility matrix and defined attribute reduction using this matrix. They proved that attribute reduction using the new matrix is equivalent to that based on system entropy. The researchers also developed a new algorithm for attribute reduction based on system entropy with the new discernibility matrix. An example is provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the new algorithm.
