Researchers studied the variation of soil pH, organic matter, and total nitrogen on Daishan Island using statistical and GIS analysis. They found that vegetation, soil types, and topography influenced the spatial distribution of these factors. Organic matter and total nitrogen were strongly correlated, with similar spatial patterns. The main factor affecting organic matter was the distribution of vegetation.
