Soil conservation measures significantly reduce runoff and sediment in river basins.
The study looked at how soil and water conservation measures reduce runoff and sediment in different-sized basins. They used three methods to calculate the benefits in three basins. The results showed that there was no difference in the benefits based on the size of the basin. Sediment reduction was always higher than runoff reduction, with small basins having a higher ratio. Small basins had lower sediment reduction but higher runoff reduction compared to larger basins. Middle and large basins had similar runoff and sediment reduction efficiencies.
