The study looked at changes in wetlands in Sanjiang Plain from 1993 to 2003. They used satellite images and field data to analyze the area. The results showed that wetlands, woodlands, and grasslands decreased, while cultivated land and water areas increased. Farmland increased significantly, with wetlands being converted to arable land. Factors like temperature increase, reduced rainfall, human population growth, and spatial location influenced the wetland changes. The study suggests protection policies for the wetlands in Sanjiang Plain.
