Ancient sedimentary discovery reveals secrets of prehistoric landscapes in gas field.
The sedimentary microfacies of He2 and He3 Member in Daniudi gas field of Ordos basin show the development of a braid river delta-shallow lacustrine sedimentary system. By studying core observations, researchers identified different sedimentary facies, subfacies, and microfacies. The important microfacies were further classified into ultra-microfacies. These sedimentary systems were formed during the lower Permian Craton depositional period in the Ordos basin, influenced by the flat landform and north provenance uplift.
