Cryopreservation breakthrough: Vitrification method boosts embryo survival and pregnancy rates.
The study compared freezing methods (program freezing and vitrification) for preserving human embryos. They looked at 609 cycles of frozen embryos. Vitrification had higher rates of survival (94.75% vs. 74.13%), embryo transfer (97.94% vs. 87.98%), embryo implantation (28.88% vs. 16.94%), and clinical pregnancy (42.86% vs. 30.75%) compared to program freezing. This means that vitrification is a better method for freezing human embryos because it leads to better outcomes in terms of embryo survival, transfer, implantation, and clinical pregnancy rates.
