Boost Rice Yield with Right Water and Fertilizer Combo, Study Shows
The study looked at how fertilizer and water affect the growth of different types of rice. They found that hybrid rice grows more after heading, while conventional japonica rice varieties grow more before heading. Having enough water and fertilizer helps move nutrients around the plant, leading to higher grain yield. Without enough water and fertilizer, the plant can't move nutrients properly. Leaves are better at moving nutrients than stems. Rice with upright panicles can move nutrients well, leading to higher grain yield.
