The rebellion of surrendered Turks caused political turmoil, allowing Tujue to grow and expand, leading to the Rise of Later Tujue. This rise resulted in the state of You becoming a major military town and the founding of Government and High Command Barracks of Pinglu. The Sui and early Tang Dynasties competed with nomadic regimes for control of northeastern China, with Tujue ultimately being defeated.
