A new maize hybrid called Lainongnuo No.6 was created by combining two specific types of maize plants. This hybrid was developed by Laiyang Agricultural University in 2000 and was found to have high yield, good taste, disease resistance, and a compact structure during tests from 2003 to 2005. It was officially approved and promoted by the Shandong Provincial Authority Committee of Crop Variety in 2006.
