The article discusses the history of agricultural science and technology policies in China since the country was founded. It identifies four stages of development: foundation, weaken, restoration, and innovation. The government has always emphasized the importance of using science and technology to improve agricultural production. Over time, China has focused on creating institutional mechanisms to combine science and technology with agriculture. The analysis shows that China's agricultural science and technology policies have three key characteristics: they are complementary, continuous, and government-led. These characteristics are expected to continue in the future.
