The researchers studied a soil landslide in Sichuan province that showed signs of deformation, posing a threat to residents. They analyzed the geological conditions, characteristics, and formation mechanism of the landslide. After quantitative calculations, they found that the landslide is mostly stable under normal and earthquake conditions, but less stable during storms.
