Toxic Lake Threatens Foshan's Water Supply, Urgent Action Needed
The researchers evaluated the water quality of Xianxi Lake and found it to be between slightly and severely eutrophic. They discovered that the lake's water quality is better during high-flow periods and worse during low-flow periods. Nitrogen and phosphorus are the main causes of water eutrophication in the lake. The water quality gradually worsens from upstream to downstream. To address this issue, prevention measures have been suggested.
