A new shunting locomotive, DF_(7G), was developed for the Qinghai-Tibet Railway. It was designed to work well in the challenging conditions of the plateau. The locomotive's systems and components were improved to handle the unique geography and environment of the area. After testing, it was found that the locomotive's system integration was well done and the technical changes were effective.
