High Nitrogen Application Reduces Efficiency in Rice Cultivation, Study Finds.
The study looked at how different amounts of nitrogen fertilizer affect the growth of a type of rice called Nanjing 44. They found that the more nitrogen fertilizer used, the more nitrogen the rice plants absorbed and moved to the grains. However, the efficiency of using the fertilizer decreased as the amount of nitrogen increased. Rice plants transplanted by hand had better nitrogen absorption and efficiency compared to those transplanted by machine. Overall, the study shows that the amount of nitrogen fertilizer used can impact how well rice plants grow and produce grains.
