New method slashes river pollution, saves aquatic life and communities.
A method was developed to control river pollution by setting water quality targets. The study focused on a polluted river and found that ammonia was the main pollutant. By dividing the river into sections and calculating pollutant loads, the researchers identified areas needing pollution reduction. They suggested treating wastewater from industries and homes, controlling rural sewage, managing riverbank waste, and building wetlands to reduce pollution.
