Volcanic eruptions and turbidite deposits reshape Liaohe depression, unlocking new energy reserves.
The researchers studied volcanic and turbidite rocks in the Oulituozi area. They used logging and grain-size analysis to identify volcanic lithology and sandstone characteristics. The study suggests a relationship between turbidite and volcanic rocks due to faulted lake basin extension. A model of turbidite fan deposit and volcanic eruption on steep slopes was created and confirmed. This research can help guide exploration of rock types in the eastern sag of the Liaohe depression.
