New Indica Rice CMS Line Promises High Quality Grains and Improved Yield.
A new type of rice called Quan 6A was created by scientists in Fujian Province. It has special traits like being unable to make pollen, having good quality grains, and being good at combining with other types of rice. The researchers used a method of breeding that involved selecting specific plants and doing multiple rounds of breeding to get the desired traits. In 2007, Quan 6A was officially approved for use in agriculture.
