Rural Drinking Water Safety Project Reveals Alarming Contamination Levels.
The study looked at the quality of drinking water in a rural area in Hechi city from 2006 to 2010. Water samples were tested according to specific standards, and the results showed that only 26.6% of the samples met the required quality criteria. The study found that there were significant differences in water quality between different years, dry and wet seasons, and between finished and peripheral water sources. The main issues identified were high levels of bacteria contamination, particularly total bacterial and coli groups. The study concluded that the water quality in the area was poor, with urgent need for better management and disinfection of rural drinking water.
