Farmers Boost Cotton Yields with Precise Planting Dates and Densities
This study looked at how different planting dates and densities affect super short-season insect-resistant cotton's growth in central Hebei. They used cotton 546 varieties and tested three planting dates and densities. They found that late planting reduced the number of fruit branches and flowers, but increasing density helped with dry matter accumulation. However, late planting led to lower nutrient accumulation and reproductive organ growth. Overall, the study showed that planting earlier with higher density can improve cotton growth, especially in terms of flower and boll production.
