The study looked at the sediment and erosion patterns at the mouth of the Guangli River. They found that sediment from the upriver Guangli, Zhimai, and Yihong Rivers, along with the Huanghe River, influenced the mouth bar. The river mouth bar is now in a balanced state. The northern side of the bar experiences stronger hydrodynamic forces than the southern side, suggesting a channel in the east by south-west by north direction would be beneficial.
