Boost Corn Yields by 54.6% with Nitrogen Fertilizer under Sprinkler Irrigation
The study looked at how nitrogen fertilizer affects corn growth under sprinkler irrigation. They found that nitrogen accumulates in corn slowly at first, then faster, peaking around 80 days after planting. Most nitrogen ends up in the stems and leaves early on, but more goes to the seeds as the corn matures. Using nitrogen fertilizer increased corn yield by 54.6%. The efficiency of nitrogen use was 36.0%, with 13.3kg of corn produced per kg of nitrogen used. The recommended amount of nitrogen fertilizer can be determined based on the crop's response and efficiency.
