The researchers studied grassland degradation in Maduo County, Qinghai Province. They used remote sensing and historical data to analyze changes over 20 years. The main findings are: plant height, vegetation cover, and biomass are important factors in degradation, MSAVI is a key indicator, 79% of grassland area is degraded, mostly mildly or moderately, and degradation has improved since the 1990s but still increased by 10% from 1997 to 2009.
