Water pollution in Changhe River in Huanggang city is a big problem due to urban development. A study focused on the polluted urban areas of the river found that the levels of pollutants like COD, NH3-N, and TP exceed the river's capacity to handle them. To improve water quality, a plan was suggested to reduce COD, NH3-N, and TP discharges by 35.3%, 33.9%, and 13.0% respectively in Huangzhou district.
