Saline water drip irrigation boosts crop growth and yield with advanced soil wetting.
Drip irrigation with salty water affects how water moves through soil. By testing different water qualities and drip rates, researchers found that the wetting front moved further with higher water quality and drip rate. After the water stopped, the wetting front continued to spread, especially with higher water quality and drip rate. Soil had more water and salt in areas where water interfered with each other. This study helps understand how soil water moves under drip irrigation with salty water.
