Landfill structure impacts leachate recirculation, improving waste treatment efficiency.
A study tested different landfill structures to see how well they handle recirculating leachate. They found that landfills with more air (quasi-aerobic) are better at removing pollutants like COD and ammonia compared to those with less air (anaerobic). Also, keeping the recycled leachate in the landfill longer helps improve the recirculation process.
