Optimizing Nitrogen Levels Boosts Cotton Yield and Quality Significantly.
The study looked at how different amounts of nitrogen fertilizer affect the growth and nitrogen uptake of two types of cotton plants. They found that with a moderate amount of nitrogen, the cotton plants grew the most biomass and absorbed the most nitrogen, leading to the highest yield and best quality cotton fibers. However, when too much nitrogen was used, the plants didn't grow as well and the quality of the cotton fibers decreased. So, using the right amount of nitrogen is important for getting the best results when growing cotton.
