The study used satellite data to track desertification in Jinghe watershed from 1990 to 2011. They found that desertification worsened during this time, mainly due to high evaporation and temperature. Wind erosion poses a significant risk in the area. While government efforts have slowed down desertification, population growth, water misuse, and human activities are still challenges to overcome for preventing further desertification in the future.
