Confucianism Shapes Ming and Qing Dynasty Merchants' Business Practices.
Merchants in Ningbo, Anhui, and Shanxi during the Ming and Qing Dynasties had different views on Confucianism. Ningbo merchants were not very interested, Anhui merchants liked Zhu Xi's ideas, and Shanxi merchants were not into Fu Shan's teachings. Confucianism influenced them in different ways: Ningbo merchants were subtly affected, Anhui merchants were directly influenced, and Shanxi merchants were only slightly impacted.
