The study analyzed surface wind patterns at Xinjin Airport in Sichuan from 2005 to 2010. The main findings include: the airport is mainly affected by north, west, and southeast winds; north and southeast winds have the highest velocities; strong winds are most common in spring; north winds are frequent in all seasons, especially in autumn and winter; wind speeds peak in the afternoon and decrease at night; annual mean wind velocity is consistent with small changes; static and light winds are common; forecasting focuses on strong winds lasting ≥5 m/s.
