A study compared the photosynthesis of 11 tea plant varieties in Sichuan, originally from Zhejiang and Fujian. The plants showed differences in their ability to absorb light and use water efficiently. Some varieties had higher rates of photosynthesis and better growth potential. Five varieties, including Pingyangtezao and Longjingchangye, were found to be well-suited for growing in Sichuan due to their high photosynthetic capacity and light usage efficiency.
