The researchers analyzed a degraded ecosystem in the lakeside zone to understand its health. They looked at the structure, function, reasons for degradation, and factors that contribute to it. Using a model called PSR, they selected and classified 40 indices to create a health assessment system for the ecosystem. This system includes indicators at three levels: pressure, state, and response.
