New Suspension Bridge Design Ensures Safety and Stability in Tianjin City
The study focused on understanding the special cable of a self-anchored suspension bridge in Tianjin City. Researchers analyzed the calculation method, mechanical characteristics, and construction scheme of the cable saddle, suspender coupling, anchorage, steel stiff girder buckling mode, and dynamic characteristics. The results suggest that main cables and saddles need a larger safety factor than parallel cables, coupling measures must ensure proper force transmission, steel stiff girder buckling mode is not a major concern, and there are differences in dynamic characteristics between self-anchored and ground-anchored suspension bridges. These findings are important for designing and constructing self-anchored suspension bridges.
