Optimized fertilizer application boosts maize yield in Shibing County fields.
The goal of the study was to find the best way to use nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium fertilizers on maize in Shibing County to increase yield and reduce costs. The researchers tested different fertilizer amounts in fields with medium and low fertility levels. They found that in fields with medium fertility, the best amounts were 198.6 kg of nitrogen, 146.7 kg of phosphorus, and 191.1 kg of potassium per hectare, resulting in a yield of 7,755.6 kg per hectare. In fields with low fertility, the optimal amounts were 194.3 kg of nitrogen, 125.4 kg of phosphorus, and 191.9 kg of potassium per hectare, leading to a yield of 7,432.5 kg per hectare. Testing the soil and using the right fertilizers can significantly improve maize yield in Shibing County.
