Massive Oil Reserves Discovered in Henan, Poised to Transform Energy Landscape
The middle submember of the third member of the Shahejie Formation in the Pucheng Oil Field contains submarine fan sediments, which are made up of fine-grained sandstones and siltstones. These sediments show characteristics of both tractional current and gravity flow deposits. The researchers identified twenty different types of rock formations in the area, including channel, interchannel, sheet sandstone, abyssal lake, bathyal lake, debris flow, and slump deposits. They created a model to show how these different formations are distributed vertically in the study area.
