Competitiveness in animal husbandry in Henan Province was analyzed using various methods to select 38 key indicators. The study found significant differences in competitiveness among the 18 municipalities in the province. Some areas like Kaifeng, Shangqiu, and Nanyang have maintained their traditional advantage in animal husbandry, while others like Hebi, Luohe, Jiaozuo, and Xinxiang are emerging as active areas for animal husbandry development. The analysis showed dynamic changes in animal husbandry competitiveness from 1999 to 2008, with distinct categories emerging among the municipalities.
