Revolutionary Study Boosts Nitrogen Removal Efficiency in Wastewater Treatment
The researchers studied how adding ethanol waste liquor to wastewater can boost denitrification in treatment plants. By doing so, they increased denitrification rate from 0.74 to 2.11 mg/(g?h) and denitrification potential from 5.6 to 16.2 mg/L. This method helps estimate the total denitrification potential in urban wastewater treatment plants and can lead to strategies for reducing nitric acid in effluent.
