Different mulching methods with whole maize straw were tested in a field experiment to see how they affected maize yield. The best method was using both plastic film and maize straw together, which increased yield by 36% to 54.5% compared to no mulching. Using just maize straw also increased yield by 40.8% compared to no mulching.
