Returning straw and pig manure combo boosts crop yield and soil health.
The study looked at how different fertilization methods affect crop yield and soil phosphorus levels in a wheat-maize rotation system. They found that using straw and organic manure as fertilizers increased wheat and maize yield compared to traditional fertilization methods. Soil phosphorus levels also improved with the use of straw and organic manure. The best approach was found to be using straw with a 50% reduction in chemical fertilizer and pig manure. This method was most effective in promoting phosphorus availability in the soil.
