Farmland runoff causing erosion crisis in Loess Plateau gully region.
The study looked at how different types of vegetation affect runoff and sediment in a gully region on the Loess Plateau. They found that farmland has the highest runoff, while wooded land has the least. Farmland also produces 2-4 times more sediment than wooded land and 4-7 times more than natural wild land. Rain power doesn't vary much between the different vegetation types. Farmland is the worst at resisting erosion, while the other types are similar in this aspect.
