The study analyzed the capacity of land resources in Shangqiu City from 1996 to 2005. They found that land resources played a bigger role in overall resources capacity than economic development. The city's resources capacity was lower than its population needs, leading to an overload situation. However, the overload was decreasing over time. The study suggests some ideas for sustainable land resource development.
